Where its predecessor captures the essence of Gabbie’s insecurities, “Monster (Reborn)” shows their inevitable aftermath. “No happy ever after / you’re already gone,” sings a blood-stained Gabbie, realizing her dark side will never reconcile with anyone.
Originally, “Monster (Reborn)” was supposed to be the last final chorus for “Monster” but her producers, Some Randoms talked her out of it and told her that “Monster” should live on its own. The same situation happened with Gabbie’s second single, “Honestly” and “Honestly (Encore)”.
