Second album after ‘2 cool 4 skool’ released in 2013, ‘O!RUL8,2?’ was released with their title track N.O, acronym for ‘No offense’. In the dystopian-like setting in this music video, it is seen that the members are being watched over intensely like students. They are given some red pills, I’m guessing it’s to sort of brainwash then into forgetting their desires as a normal human being. But the pill doesn’t seem to work, and the teachers have noticed. The Bangtan members achieve their goal of escaping by clashing with the riot police protecting the teacher. They then appear in a place who could somewhat be called Nirvana, their movements at this part of the song seem to be made to look robotic on purpose. Lyrics-wise, this seems to be a sequel to ‘No more Dream’, no more dream concentrates on how students do nothing but to study, thus leaving them without space for their own dreams. N.O goes further into the storyline as to why this is a problem. The lyrics can be interpreted as a way of saying that South Korea’s school system can be very harsh, alongside the worry of the students of what will happen after they tell their parents their grades. Overall, this song concentrates on how students should be given the opportunity to grow fully without the pressure of school eating you up.
