This song was originally written for and recorded by Céline Dion. As luck would have it, Céline decided not to include it on her album and I loved the melody and lyric so much that I wanted it to be the first single from my 1998 dance-infused ‘Gloria!’ album. The first live performance of this song was on VH1’s first ever ‘Divas Live’. I’ll never forget tripping on a lovely ‘wrap stole’ that I did not want to wear, fearing that exactly what happened would happen and on live television no less. But I guess that’s what keeps those live shows exciting. I’ll also never forget how dizzy I got shooting the music video when I had to do somersaults hanging in mid-air on a wire. I had to send a runner out for dramamine. How they talk me into these things I’ll never know!
