Artist biography
Gloria Gaynor was born on the 7th September 1943. She has five brothers and one sister. She had a really traumatic spine injury. She grew up in a house full of music. Gloria became a christian and she was in a band called the Soul Satisfiers. It was mostly jazz and R&B music band in the 1960s.
Gloria got her name from the famous guy named Johnny Nash and was married.
My interpretation of the song
I think the song is sad because it sounds like she has been through a lot. I think it is about the social issue of abuse and LGBT acceptance. She is talking about her bad relationship the she went through and her traumatic spinal injury and how she survived. I picked this song because it is a meaningful song and I kind of get what she went through and that it’s important to get it out.
