“Momentary Bliss” is the first installment in a series of episodic singles to be released by Gorillaz in a series entitled Song Machine. The track blends styles of psychedelic synth-pop, punk and hip-hop, mixing synths and drums machines with traditional rock instruments.
The song is the final track on the standard release of Song Machine, Season One: Strange Timez despite it being the first released single for the project.
The song features punk duo Slaves and UK rapper slowthai, which marks the first collaboration between the three. Slaves have worked with slowthai before on his track “Missing.”
