“Hideaway” is a song interpreted by the young and talented singer-songwriter Grace VanderWaal, released on March 15, 2019, just like the film it serves as the official soundtrack: “Wonder Park”.
As the film deals with the story of an imaginative 10-year-old girl, June, who spent her childhood days constructing an amusement park filled with fantastical rides and inhabited by talking animals, called “Wonderland”, with her mother and her friends: however, eventually she lost her sense of imagination and had to cope with her mother’s illness. But one day, she finds the real “Wonderland” in the woods and teams up with the animals in order to take all the threats off and bring it back to life.
The song seem to take inspiration by this last theme, as amusement parks are made to feel people of all ages younger and more comfortable with themselves: just remember how Houston’s “Astroworld” has influenced Travis Scott’s life…
