Standing On Lyrics

Golden dawn breaks the darkness with its wrath of steel
Night to tests as long as will allows it to conceal

And oh, nobody loves you
When you're standing all alone
Oh, nobody loves you
When you're dead and gone

Giants walk the lands and ramble with their hammers high
Destroy their iron suits of ether for until they try

And oh, nobody loves you
When you're standing all alone
Oh, nobody loves you
When you're dead and gone

Grinding with his congregation walk with heads held high
Credence through the land no more, 'tis heads rolled by and by

And oh, nobody loves you
When you're standing all alone
Oh, nobody loves you
When you're dead and gone

My, my, my
Odin with his mighty wrath will smite a nights-a-foot
And in the bloody battlefields the rise of fire and soot

And oh, nobody loves you
When you're standing all alone
Oh, nobody loves you
When you're dead and gone (oh oh oh...)

Oh

Odin fell and Ragnarök took [?]
Colors are born and pain and dying then begin to fade

And oh, nobody loves you
When you're standing all alone
Oh, nobody loves you
When you're dead and gone

Oh

(My, my, my)
Oh
(My, my, my)
(My, my, my)
(My, my, my)
(My, my, my)
Oh

Genius Annotation

This is one of the few songs by the band to feature original drummer, Kyle Hauck.

It was first released on August 12, 2013, on what looks to be either a self-titled or untitled 3-song CD. This CD included an early version of ‘Highway Tune’ and an unreleased song called ‘Cloud Train.’

These same three songs also appeared in another self-titled or untitled CD that was released on January 12, 2014. In addition to these three songs, two live recordings of the band’s own songs appeared in the track list. These two live songs are ‘Lover, Leaver (Taker, Believer)’ and ‘Written In Gold.’
As of now, these two live recordings no longer exist to the public and are impossible to obtain.

The song was featured in a Detroit Chevy Equinox commercial in 2014.
