Genius Annotation

On “Asian Jake Paul,” iDubbbz disses fellow YouTuber RiceGum. The song was featured as the ending to the iDubbbz rant video “Content Cop – Jake Paul.”

Don’t get dissuaded by the title because in the video, iDubbbz explains why he wrote Jake Paul’s name in the title instead of Rice’s:

I don’t have to give this bit of mucus the satisfaction of having his name in the title or his face in the thumbnail.

iDubbbz calls out RiceGum’s treatment of other YouTubers and fans, including the time he smashed The Gabbie Show’s phone, his relationship with Jacob Sartorius and his use of a ghostwriter without disclosing it.

iDubbbz blatantly says that the song was written by Boyinaband. The entire writing process was documented in the behind-the-scenes video, in which Boyinaband claimed that iDubbbz helped a fair amount in the writing process:

Ian will tell you that he didn’t have much to do with making the song, but it’s totally not true. He came up with tons of the ideas.

PewDiePie, who has the largest independent channel on YouTube, made an appearance in the music video to show his support to iDubbbz, and in turn, disgust towards RiceGum.

Has RiceGum responded?
Genius Answer

Immediately after the “Content Cop” video, Rice posted a short response in which he half-concedes that being roasted by iDubbbz is a dangerous thing for his career. He also said that it would take a bit more than a single day to respond to a 30 minute video which probably took weeks if not months to research and edit.

He also tweeted that he would release something towards the end of the week that iDubbbz released his “Content Cop” video.

On Sunday 7th October, his final response was released, with a similar format to iDubbbz’s video. It also included a preview of his diss track which released on October 10th titled ‘Frick the Police’.

Why was this song created?
Genius Answer

iDubbbz was making a Content Cop on RiceGum, so he decided to give RiceGum a bit of his own medicine and make a diss track on RiceGum, something that iDubbbz has never done before.

Who created the beat?
Genius Answer

Dan Bull provided the beat for the video. It was made before the video, and used by Ian.
