“Nuttin' But a Bitch Thang,” originally released as “Ain’t Nothin' But a Bitch Thang,” was ICP’s response to Eminem’s “Marshall Mathers.” This track uses the beat of Ice Cube’s “No Vaseline,” which was his N.W.A diss track. The title is a parody of “Nuthin' But a ‘G’ Thang” by Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg.
The chorus is interpolated from the song “Fool’s Gold” by Golden Goldies, a comedy supergroup created by Insane Clown Posse in 1995.
Before the release of Insane Clown Posse’s 2000 double album Bizaar / Bizzar, “Ain’t Nothin' But a Bitch Thang” was released as a free download on their website, with this description:
Since pop-star Eminem’s diss attempt at Insane Clown Posse on his most recent album, Juggalos everywhere have been asking when ICP would release a track in retaliation. We were going to release this track on the new Insane Clown Posse album, Bizaar/Bizaar, but we were worried that Eminem would have fallen off the map by then, and people wouldn’t get the joke. So, instead, we decided to hurry up and release the song before next week when the teeny boppers jump to the next-big-thing.

In a 2000 interview with Rolling Stone, Violent J explained why this song wasn’t included on an actual Insane Clown Posse album:
I didn’t want to spend a whole song dissing him on Bizzar/Bizaar. We still got at him, there’s a song called “Please Don’t Hate Me” where we kill Eminem at the end. I didn’t just want to make it to where all we were singing and rapping about was Eminem because that gets boring real quick. It was just an answer to what he did to us on his album.
Insane Clown Posse discussed this song during their 2021 Patreon-exclusive livestream titled “Welcome to the Jam Exam, Episode 3: Forgotten Freshness”:
Shaggy: I think ‘cause we had too many Eminem diss songs, so we were like, we can’t use them all [on Bizzar/Bizaar…] That was kinda like our official comeback, because we used the same sample, “No Vaseline.” We were like, “Yo, we’re gonna get him with 'No Vasaline’ type shit.”
Violent J: That’s the song Ice Cube dissed N.W.A with.
Shaggy: It’s the most notorious rap diss song there is, besides, like, “The Bridge Is Over.” Ice Cube’s fuckin' “No Vasaline” is easily the top three diss rap songs ever made, ever, ever.
