Satellite 15... The Final Frontier Lyrics

Part I: Satellite 15

[Instrumental Intro 0:00 - 2:31]

[Verse 1]
I try to call the Earth's command desperation in my voice
I'm drifting way off course now with very little choice
The loneliness is hard to bear, I try to calm my fear
Just hoping any second now some contact filters through

[Verse 2]
Desperate calls signal back from Satellite
As my life flashes right in front of me
Try again, must get through
Hear me now, for I've very little time

[Verse 3]
Not much time, hear my call
Please get through, I am here

Part II: The Final Frontier

[Verse 4]
I'm stranded in space, I'm lost without trace
I haven't a chance of getting away

Too close to the Sun, I surely will burn
Like Icarus before me, or so legend goes

Genius Annotation

The opening track for Iron Maiden’s 2010 album has a doomed astronaut delivering his final messages. The first part of the title is a reference to how The Final Frontier is Iron Maiden’s fifteenth album.

The song received a music video that ignores the “Satellite 15” part, hence being titled only “The Final Frontier.”
