RUN Lyrics

[Intro: Shiloh Dynasty & Juice WRLD]
Father, forgive me, for you know, that I'm always sinning
And I, and I, mhm, mhm-mhm
I take no interest partying with liquor, fucking up my system
Excuse my language, that's a hang-up on how shitty I'm feeling

And I to-o-old, uh
I'm sorry, I feel no attraction, I know that it's been a minute
And I, and I survived the night
So, Father, forgive me, for you know, that I'm always sinning
I take no interest partying with liquor, fucking up my system

Oh, why'd you lie? You lied, you lied, you lied, you lied
Excuse my language, that's a hang-up on how shitty I'm been feeling
Realize, that this life
I'm sorry, I feel no attraction, I know that it's been a minute
So—

[Chorus: Juice WRLD]
Realize your dark side collides inside
You run as fast as you can, but you can't hide
Realize your dark side collides inside
You run as fast as you can

[Post-Chorus: Juice WRLD]
Inner soul, dark and light fight for the control
Nobody knows
Inner soul, dark and light fight for the control
Don't anyone know? Don't anyone know?
[Verse: Juice WRLD]
"Money is happiness," cap
"Bitches got faithfulness," cap
"And drugs only make it worse," cap
I take a Perc' then I take me a nap
Take a sip of the syrup, so I could go relax
Bitch, I'm ready for war when the demons attack
Hell yeah, believe that

[Pre-Chorus: Juice WRLD]
One to the face, don't fuckin' hesitate
I'm high as Heaven's gates
Ain't no comin' down, comin' down
One to the face, don't fuckin' hesitate
Bitch, I'm high as Heaven's gates
Ain't no comin' down, comin' down
Bitch, I'm high as Heaven's gates
Ain't no comin' down, comin' down (Realize that—)
Bitch, I'm high as Heaven's gates
Ain't no comin' down, comin' down

[Chorus: Juice WRLD]
Realize your dark side collides inside
You run as fast as you can, but you can't hide
Realize your dark side collides inside
You run as fast as you can
Realize your dark side collides inside
You run as fast as you can, but you can't hide
Realize your dark side collides inside
You run as fast as you can

About

Genius Annotation

“RUN” is Juice WRLD’s first solo release following his sophomore studio album, Death Race for Love. On the track, he raps about how he uses drugs to cope with the pain rather than money, debunking the classic claim that money equals happiness.

Juice surprises the listener, displaying the same aggression as he previously showed on Ski Mask the Slump God’s November 2018 track “Nuketown" and his March 2019 track “Syphillis.“

With “RUN,” Juice WRLD also pays homage to the late Florida rapper XXXTENTACION, by sampling Shiloh Dynasty and using the same cadence as X did on “Moonlight.” Juice has previously paid tribute to X on “Legends.”

While the track was originally released on YouTube too, “RUN” is as of August 2019 only officially available on his SoundCloud.

What did Juice WRLD say about "RUN"?
Genius Answer

When asked which song was the realest he ever wrote, Juice responded:

I’ll have to say, probably that song that didn’t make the album [“RUN”]. Realize your dark side collides inside. Yeah.

What is the sample Juice WRLD used?
Genius Answer

The sample here is originally from one of Shiloh’s Instagram videos.

It was first used by Masked Man’s “Drowning My Sorrows” with the additional vocals of Shiloh Dynasty.

XXXTENTACION later on used this sample and made “ANGEL.”

Why wasn't "RUN" released on streaming services?
Genius Answer

Although the answer isn’t truly known, it is most likely that sample used in the beginning and the end featuring Shiloh Dynasty was not cleared, which would also explain why the song got suddenly taken down off of YouTube just weeks after the release. XXXTentacion’s “ANGEL,” featuring the same sample, was also not released on streaming services, supporting this idea.
