Love Is Weird Lyrics

[Verse 1]
Tattoos on my arm
Still scared of forever
Keep my ex's letters
In the third drawer of my dresser

First one hit me hard
Second was a feather
Playing operation
Tryna put me back together

[Pre-Chorus]
Closed off and exposed
Salty and I'm seared
Naked in my clothes, yeah

[Chorus]
Love is weird
Don't know how I wound up here
Love is weird
It shows up and disappears
Love is strange for some
It ranges from making love to tears
Now we're here, love is weird
Oh, oh, oh, oh

[Verse 2]
People in my past
Put 'em in a coffin
Laid 'em all to rest
But I still think about 'em often
We were on our toes
Tryna make a good impression
Now we're kissin' under lampposts
And we're asking deeper questions
[Pre-Chorus]
Closed off and exposed
Salty and I'm seared
Naked in my clothes, yeah

[Chorus]
Love is weird
Don't know how I wound up here
Love is weird
It shows up and disappears
Love is strange for some
It ranges from making love to tears
Now we're here, love is weird
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh

[Outro]
Now we're here
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Love is weird

Genius Answer

It was myself, Monsters & Strangerz, Billy Walsh and John Ryan; we had about 30 minutes left in the studio. I was having a conversation with Billy, and I remember being like, “Yeah, man, love is weird.” All of a sudden we had this song about how you can go from loving somebody so intimately to grieving over the heartbreak and devastation of that relationship. And then you’re sitting in the park with somebody new, you’re psychoanalysing everything that person is saying, you’re hoping to God that they’re not a serial killer and that everything they say they actually mean. Then you’re super in love with them and you don’t remember anything about the last person that you loved.
