Forever Yours Lyrics

[Verse 1]
Every time I see your face
There's a cloud hanging over you
In such a beautiful way
There's a poetry to your solitude

[Chorus]
Oh, you should let me love you
Hold me now, forevermore
Oh, I've been thinking of you
Tell me I'm forever yours
Oh, you should let me love you
Hold me now, forevermore
Oh, I've been thinking of you
Tell me I'm forever yours

[Post-Chorus]
Tell me I'm forever yours
Tell me I'm forever yours

[Verse 2]
And you won't ever have to try
To live by everybody else's rules
It'll be just you and I
Together in the altitude
[Chorus]
Oh, you should let me love you
Hold me now, forevermore
Oh, I've been thinking of you
Tell me I'm forever yours
Oh, you should let me love you
Hold me now, forevermore
Oh, I've been thinking of you
Tell me I'm forever yours

[Post-Chorus]
Tell me I'm forever yours
Tell me I'm forever yours
Tell me I'm forever yours
Tell me I'm forever yours

[Outro]
You should let me love ya, love ya
You should let me love ya, love ya

Genius Annotation

“Forever Yours” is a song first produced by Avicii and completed by Kygo after the Swedish DJ’s tragic death on April 20th, 2018, with vocals provided by Avicii’s long-time collaborator Sandro Cavazza who sang on Avicii’s hit “Without You” as well as having an uncredited vocalist role on “Sunset Jesus” off Tim’s second LP Stories.

The song first started its production back in 2016, when Cavazza and Avicii decided to go on a road trip across the US, and they reached Ultra 2016 as their final destination, where they performed songs written throughout the whole trip, such as “Forever Yours” along with unreleased tracks “We Burn” and “Lord”.

After Avicii’s death, Cavazza searched for a producer that shared Avicii’s vision, and eventually sent the song over to a friend and collaborator: Norwegian DJ Kygo, whom Sandro had worked previously with on the song “Happy Now”. After getting consent from Tim’s family, Kygo finished production on the track with his own tune and the release date was set for January 24th, 2020. Before the release of the track, it was premiered by Kygo during his set at the Avicii Tribute Concert on December 5th, 2019.

What did Kygo, Avicii & Sandro Cavazza say about "Forever Yours"?
Genius Answer

Kygo

I really like this type of production, it just felt special. My biggest dream is to be in the studio with Tim, but unfortunately, I never get to do so. So when Sandra sent me the song, I felt like that is the closest I could get to collaborate with Tim…It does not have to be a sad song, it can be something hopeful.

Sandro Cavazza

This version of Forever Yours is a Tribute to Tim that I and Kygo have put together to honor what he has meant to both of us. The music we made together has changed my life and my perspective on music. He was Kygo’s biggest idol and biggest inspiration and that’s what has made this Tribute possible.
We’re releasing this song together with Tim’s family and the proceeds from the track will go to the nonprofit Tim Bergling Foundation which benefits organizations that support mental health issues, suicide prevention and education, wildlife conservation and other issues that Tim had an interest in and passion for.
