Dancing Feet Lyrics

[Verse 1]
Spin you around on the chandeliers
Head over heels like Tears for Fears
Your love, no, I can't get enough, uh
Losin' my cool, but I'm stayin' alive
Dance in the rain just to kiss the night
Your touch, oh, it fits like a glove, oh, eh

[Pre-Chorus]
Don't need drama
I just need one word to get to you
So tell me now, do you want it?

[Chorus]
'Cause these dancin' feet don't cry to the rhythm, they cry for you
And every Saturday night that you ain't here, my tears are blue
And these blindin' lights, they shine so bright like we're on the moon
But I don't wanna dancе another beat, no, unless it's with you

[Post-Chorus]
I don't wanna dancе another beat, no, unless it's with you

[Verse 2]
Tell me, who do I call when I lose my mind?
Four in the mornin', I'm on fire
It's you that I'm runnin' to
You got a diamond heart, you're a work of art
And nothin' compares when I'm in your arms
Don't go 'cause we'll never know, oh, eh
[Pre-Chorus]
Don't need drama
I just need one word to get to you
So tell me now, do you want it?

[Chorus]
'Cause these dancin' feet don't cry to the rhythm, they cry for you
And every Saturday night that you ain't here, my tears are blue
And these blindin' lights, they shine so bright like we're on the moon
But I don't wanna dance another beat, no, unless it's with you

[Post-Chorus]
I don't wanna dance another beat, no, unless it's with you

[Bridge]
Da-da-da-da-dancin' feet
Da-da-da-da-dancin' feet
Da-da-da-da-dancin' feet
They cry, they cry
Da-da-da-da-dancin' feet
Da-da-da-da-dancin' feet
Da-da-da-da-dancin' feet
They cry, they

[Chorus]
'Cause these dancin' feet don't cry to the rhythm, they cry for you
And every Saturday night that you ain't here, my tears are blue
And these blindin' lights, they shine so bright like we're on the moon
But I don't wanna dance another beat, no, unless it's with you (Oh)
[Post-Chorus]
Unless it's with you, with you, hey
(These dancin' feet, they cry)
I don't wanna dance another beat, no, unless it's with you

[Outro]
Da-da-da-da-dancin' feet
Da-da-da-da-dancin' feet
Da-da-da-da-dancin' feet
They cry, they cry
Da-da-da-da-dancin' feet
Da-da-da-da-dancin' feet
But I don't wanna dance another beat, no, unless it's with you

About

Genius Annotation

On “Dancing Feet,” Kygo brings DNCE out of their three-year-long hiatus for an upbeat pop banger that features the band’s lead singer, Joe Jonas, singing about the loneliness he feels when his wife, Sophie Turner, is not home at the time.

Joe had been teasing the song on social media since mid-January 2022, in which fans predicted DNCE’s comeback based on the sound of the song and the band’s social media accounts being active at the time. On February 7, 2022, he and DNCE announced the return of the band. Kygo shared the song’s release date and cover art on February 20, 2022.

The official music video for the song premiered on February 28, 2022, coinciding with the three-year anniversary of the reunion of the Jonas Brothers, Joe’s other band with his brothers, Nick and Kevin. It was originally set to be released three days ago alongside the song’s release, but was pushed back in support of the Ukraine-Russia conflict at the time.

How did Joe Jonas get the call for DNCE to be featured on the song?
Genius Answer

So last year, I was shooting this movie, Devotion, that comes out later this year [2022] and while I was there, I had a lot of time on my hands. When you’re not number one on the call sheet, that means you get a lot of days off, so I was sitting around and I was–, I wanted to be productive and I’m sitting in the trailer, I’m like, “I feel like I’ve got some music to write.” So I started working on songs and as I listened back to them, I’m like, “Okay, this kind of sounds like it could be a DNCE song.” And so then I was entertaining the idea of bringing the band back together and as those conversations started, we looked at a window around like the springtime to release new DNCE music and Kygo hit me up, he’s like, “I’ve got this song. Can I send it your way?” I want to get your thoughts.“ I was like, "Oh, my God, this is brilliant.” And it’s right up the alley of the music I’ve been making for DNCE. So then we pushed our calendar up and this song now obviously is out and we’re so thrilled and the reactions [have] been insane and we’re happy to relaunch DNCE and obviously to collab with Kyrre [Kygo’s real name] and Kygo is a dream come true.
