Claire & Eddie Lyrics

[Verse 1]
Sister ride, sister ride if you wanna
To a place I know that we can go
Where the hills come together
We can take it slow until you come around

[Verse 2]
There's a glow at the face of the canyon
And a sound blowing 'round
Says you're nowhere you've ever been before
Take a plunge into the Colorado River
Where you feel yourself for the very first time
I knew you'd be a friend of mine

[Chorus]
Ooh fire's gonna rage if people don't change
Ooh a story so old, still so original

[Verse 3]
You drift in and out like a thunder
Force my hand to get you out of here
Somewhere we can disappear
This is love although you've never seen it
We knew in time it had to be one of us
Never felt a warmer touch
[Chorus]
Ooh fire's gonna rage if people don't change
Ooh a story so old, still so original

[Chorus 2]
Ooh fire's gonna rage if people don't change
Ooh I'm chemically inclined to say what's on my mind
Ooh you're getting pretty close, but you've got a little ways to go
The story so old but still so original

[Outro]
You really laid it on the line, line, line, line, line, line, line
Oh hit me one more time, time, time, time, time, time, time
You really laid it on the line, line, line, line, line, line, line
Oh baby hit me one more time, time, time, time, time, time, time

What did Kings of Leon say about "Claire & Eddie"?
Genius Answer

Caleb Followill:

Me and Jared really hashed it out. He goes on a lot of rants about stuff, but he says it in a way that makes you go, ‘Hmm, maybe he’s right.’ It was about the Earth and how people have been bad. But we wrote the song about mankind talking to Mother Earth. They find a kinship, and it’s a beautiful love song about man and Earth, or woman and Earth.
