Just Another Rainbow Lyrics

[Verse 1]
I, I might have known
This would be
Just another rainbow
I, I walk the Earth
I search the sky
Just another rainbow
No pot of gold
Waiting here for me

[Chorus]
Just another rainbow
Hanging over me
Just another rainbow
Dripping on my tree

[Verse 2]
I'm out of control
Half of the hole
Just another rainbow
Paying the bills
Am I your windmill?

[Chorus]
Just another rainbow
Hanging over me
Just another rainbow
Dripping on my tree
[Bridge]
Red and orange, yellow and green
Blue, indigo, violet
We've crossed a line

[Instrumental Break]

[Chorus]
Just another rainbow
Hanging over me
Just another rainbow
Dripping on my tree

Genius Annotation

Former Oasis vocalist Liam Gallagher and Stone Roses guitarist John Squire have announced a collaborative single called ‘Just Another Rainbow.’

Released on 7” vinyl on Friday 5th January 2024 via Parlophone Records, the track is the first musical morsel from Gallagher and Squire with “more new music to follow as the year unfolds.”

The pair started working together following John Squire’s guest performance of ‘Champagne Supernova’ at Liam Gallagher’s Knebworth shows in June 2022.

They demoed the songs at Squire’s recording studio in Macclesfield before heading over to Los Angeles to record them with Beck, R.E.M. and Roger Waters collaborator Joey Waronker or drums and Foo Fighters and Paul McCartney producer Greg Kurstin on bass.

Liam Gallagher says: “I think John’s a top songwriter. Everyone always bangs on about him as a guitarist, but he’s a top songwriter too, man, no two ways about it as far as I’m concerned.

“There’s not enough of his music out there, whether it’s with the Roses or himself. It’s good to see him back writing songs, and fing good ones.”

John Squire says of ‘Just Another Rainbow’: “To me the most obvious take is that it’s about disappointment. But I don’t like to explain songs, I think that’s the privilege of the listener. It’s also one of the most uplifting tracks we’ve made together.”

Both Liam Gallagher and John Squire have been teasing the collaboration in recent days by sharing video clips on socials along with quotes praising each other.

Gallagher gushed: “John Squire without a doubt the best guitarist of his generation and in the world in my opinion.”

What did Liam Gallagher & John Squire say about "Just Another Rainbow"?
Genius Answer

Liam Gallagher:

I think John’s a top songwriter. Everyone always bangs on about him as a guitarist, but he’s a top songwriter too, man, no two ways about it as far as I’m concerned. There’s not enough of his music out there, whether it’s with the Roses or himself. It’s good to see him back writing songs and fucking good ones. The melodies are mega and then the guitars are a given. But I think even when you take all the fucking guitars off, you can play the songs all on acoustic and they’ll all still blow your mind.

John Squire:

To me the most obvious take on ‘Just Another Rainbow’ is that it’s about disappointment, and the sentiment is that you never get what you really want. But I don’t like to explain songs, I think that’s the privilege of the listener, it’s whatever you want it to be. To me, it’s also one of the most uplifting tracks we’ve made together, which is weird.
