Little Mix’s “Holiday” is a follow-up to March 2020’s “Break Up Song,” as also the second single off of their sixth studio album, Confetti, released the 6th of November the same year.
The all-female UK quartet began teasing the track since July 7, 2020 by posting four individual, summer vacation-themed photos of the members from 2018 and 2019, including the possible hidden lyrics, as also revealing four new GIFs on Instagram and sending secret, multiple messages to their fans on social media.
On July 16, the girl group officially announced the release of “Holiday” the following week. On July 24, the track was officially released along with its karaoke video. Over a month later, on August 28, the highly anticipated official music video was released too.

We get a lot of inspiration when we go through breakups and personal stuff. And it’s always the easiest thing to write about. We write with the heart and about how you’re feeling emotionally. But for this one, we were just like, ‘Why don’t we write instead about being happy and how a boy can make you feel amazing when he’s the one?’ And it just went from there.
On an interview with Hits Radio, Jade and Perrie revealed that it was “just a lovely, positive, happy love song, […] because when you’re with someone that makes you feel good, it feels like a holiday.”
