“Killer Queen” was originally released in 1974 by the British rock band Queen. Notably, the song was the band’s breakthrough hit, and first international success.
Written by Freddie Mercury, “Killer Queen” describes a high class call girl:
It’s about a high class call girl. I’m trying to say that classy people can be whores as well. That’s what the song is about, though I’d prefer people to put their interpretation upon it – to read into it what they like.
Brendon Urie makes a subtle allusion to “Killer Queen” during the song “Victorious” from Panic! At The Disco’s 2016 album Death of a Bachelor. The lyrics reference a “Killer King” as well as a Queen executed by guillotine similar to Marie Antoinette.
