I’ve Forgotten Everything Lyrics

[Verse 1]
I've forgotten everything about you
Until someone says your name
I've forgotten all the reasons I loved you
Until someone tells me that you rang

[Chorus]
The memories are hazy now
I don't recall at all
There's nothing, there's nothing there
Just me
And I don't understand why

[Verse 2]
I can't recollect my feelings
Until someone mentions that they saw you
I really don't remember all the things you said
Until someone shows me where you live

[Chorus]
Why is everything so hazy now
I don't recall at all
There's nothing, there's nothing there
Just me
And I don't understand why
[Bridge]
I can't recall your smile
The touch of your hand holding mine
And I can't remember why
Holding you seemed so right
Oh

[Instrumental Break]

[Chorus]
The memories, they're hazy now
I don't recall at all
There's nothing, there's nothing there
Just me
And I don't understand why

[Outro]
I've forgotten everything about you
Until someone says your name
I've forgotten all those reasons I loved you
Until someone tells me that you rang
Oh
Oh

About

Genius Annotation

“I’ve Forgotten Everything” is about recalling a person Phil has not been seeing or hearing for a long time. Given the lyrics, it must be a person he has loved in the past.

Besides, he doesn’t know the reason he has a hard time trying to remind the person but he recalls things as soon as he has some information about the person.

Just like the rest of the 1993 Album “Both Sides”, “I’ve Forgotten Everything” was produced without the help of studio musicers. Collin’s songs became so personal and private that he didn’t want anyone else to work on them.
