“Buffy the Body” is an unreleased track by Atlanta rapper Playboi Carti, recorded through June 2, 2018, to January 4, 2019, during production of his sophomore studio album Whole Lotta Red. It was intended to be on the first version of the project.
The song was previewed in October 2018, in a leaked Instagram live video on Carti’s private Instagram account nineninesixteensixteen. It was previewed by Carti’s friend Jay before the Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2019 showcase with Virgil Abloh. It became one of the most anticipated Whole Lotta Red snippets by fans. The track was leaked on August 28, 2019.
“Buffy the Body” is rumored to be another collaboration between Carti and Atlanta record producer Roark Bailey. Roark produced Carti’s track “Lookin” (2017). He also produced Carti-featuring song “Still” by ManMan Savage (2017). Roark also produced Carti’s unreleased tracks “Check It Out”, “Back Up” featuring fellow rapper and frequent collaborator Offset and “In My Car” and the latter’s original version (2017).
