The concept behind GTTM: Goin Thru The Motions, Rock’s debut album, is to showcase him vacillating between the emotions that someone living his lifestyle feels. Most notably, in his music, the two extremes are a bachelor who embraces his debauchery and a man who is ready to commit. “Misunderstood” shows Rock in a misunderstanding with one of his love interests due to the fact that they are on different pages in terms of their relationship. Though he told her that he wasn’t going to commit, she still expects him to, and he feels trapped and constrained.
