This song in particular, out of all the other ones, we knew right from when we started working on it that we wanted to have a feature. And we did it kind a while back. The Spanish flavor was blowing up, with “Despacito,” and so we wanted to capitalize on that. So we went in, and Edwin wrote a lot of the Spanish stuff, and we all collaborated on making it something that’s uptempo, very playful, but also cool and quirky and stuff. We put in the work, and it happened so fast. And getting French Montana on the track was dope, because, like I said, we knew we wanted to have someone featured on it, but we didn’t really know who, so we were putting together lists. And we had it sent around to managers and other producers and it got in the hands of XO Team and so French Montana was already in the studio, heard it, and was like, “I want to hop on.” He cuts it, sends the version literally the same day, and so we were like, “Alright, I guess that’s that.” That was easy. We were like, let’s do another feature.

I produce. I work on beats, and we all write and stuff. But I like coming up with melodies and stuff. Edwin is killer with metaphors, and he’s pretty good lyrically. Zion is dope just when it comes down to freestyle. So a lot of the time we’ll just turn on the mic, and he’ll start doing stuff, and we’ll just pick out ideas that he did and just enhance them and put them in for the song. Nick’s also really good with melodies. Austin has really good ideas, unique ideas and concepts, and we all take a stab at it and if we’re not feeling the vibe, not all of us go in the studio, sometimes it’s just three or two of us. But we always have a little piece we put to the puzzle, and it just looks amazing.
