Bohemian Rhapsody (Live Aid) Lyrics

[Verse 1]
Mama, just killed a man
Put a gun against his head, pulled my trigger, now he's dead

Mama, life had just begun
But now I’ve gone and thrown it all away
Mama, ooh
Didn't mean to make you cry
If I'm not back again this time tomorrow
Carry on, carry on as if nothing really matters

[Verse 2]
Too late, my time has come
Sends shivers down my spine, body’s aching all the time
Goodbye, everybody; I've got to go
Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth
Mama, ooh
I don't want to die
But sometimes wish I'd never been born at all

[Guitar Solo]

On 13th July, 1985 at 6:41 pm, Queen took the stage at Wembley Stadium during the internationally broadcasted concert, Live Aid. This is often regarded as Queen’s greatest single live performance in their career, and it revitalized their momentum as a band. “Bohemian Rhapsody” was the opener to the 21 minute set, and was played from the first verse up to the guitar solo right before the operatic section, leading into “Radio Ga Ga”.
The famous Live Aid performance was recreated for the 2018 biopic Bohemian Rhapsody. The film depicts this as Queen’s first show in years (even though the band has played several shows beforehand). With the band’s inner conflicts such as creative differences, Freddie Mercury’s solo record, his downward spiral and private reveal of contracting the AIDS virus, the Live Aid concert is portrayed as the climatic shot of redemption for Queen.
