Fireflies Lyrics

[Verse 1]
There's a world you don't see
Old man's tears for a young man's dreams
In my eyes, you're growing like the weeds
I can't decide if I'm you or if you're me

[Chorus]
And don't let fear be a thorn in your side
Keep your eyes on the light
And let everyone know that you caught it
Like fireflies in the garden
And past the trees and the stones I've thrown
Walked the longest way home
And let everyone know they'rе invited
To see fireflies in thе garden

[Verse 2]
One day the stars will disappear
Might go away, but you can always come back here
Seasons will change from golden to silver
Don't let time turn your heart into winter

[Chorus]
But don't let fear be a thorn in your side
Keep your eyes on the light
And let everyone know that you caught it
Like fireflies in the garden
And past the trees and the stones I've thrown
Walked the longest way home
And let everyone know that you caught it
Like fireflies in the garden
[Bridge]
We go where the sunlight meets the mornin'
Oh, dear, 'til you find what you're looking for

[Chorus]
And don't let fear be a thorn in your side
Keep your eyes on the light
And let everyone know that you caught it
Like fireflies in the garden
And past the trees and the stones I've thrown
Walked the longest way home
And let everyone know they're invited
To see fireflies in the garden

[Outro]
There's a world you don't see
Old man's tears for a young man's dreams

What did Rag'n'Bone Man say about "Fireflies"?
Genius Answer

It’s telling my son not to be frightened, and to be bold. It’s a scary world for kids growing up, especially with the social media age. At Allen Shamblin’s ranch, I saw fireflies at night, and I was like, ‘God, if my son could see this, he would think this is actual magic.’ The first part is me playing guitar outside of Mike’s studio. When it’s early in the morning, you can hear mad crickets and cockerels in the distance. So when I recorded it on the phone, you could pick up all of that. It felt like a great opening song, just the noise of the place without anything else.
