Genius Annotation

‘'If You Say The Word’‘ was released as the first single off of Radiohead’s compilation album Kid A Mnesia. It came as the first piece of previously unreleased material from the recording sessions for Kid A and Amnesiac, roughly two decades later.

Entries in Ed O'Brien’s diary at the time confirm the working title of the track, ‘'C-Minor Song’‘, and the fact that it had been on the works since around 1999. The song title changed to ’‘Say The Word’‘ in September 1999, before finally changing again to ’‘If You Say The Word’‘ for the final release.
