save a seat Lyrics

[Intro]
One, two
One, two, fuck you

[Verse 1]
Saw you having dinner
With some douchebag in a suit and tie
You were taking pictures
Of a meal that only he could buy
Hey, mister, mister
No offense but I used to call her mine
Next time you're with her

[Chorus]
Could you save a seat for me?
Could you save a seat for me?

[Verse 2]
Ran out of money
Now you sleep with men who pay your bills
And I find it funny
But that's also one hell of a skill
When the road gets bumpy
You run away just for the thrill
If you leave the country
[Chorus]
Could you save a seat for me?
Could you save a seat for me?

[Verse 3]
You dress like the '90s
But he wants you wearing something else
You speak politely
Every time he speaks he has to yell
He'll buy a ring that's shiny
Married in a dress that's long as hell
And you won't invite me

[Chorus]
But could you save a seat for me? (Oh, yeah)
Could you save a seat for me? (Hmm)
Could you save a seat for me? (Oh)
Could you save a seat for me? (Hmm)
Could you save a seat for me?

What did ROLE MODEL say about "save a seat"?
Genius Answer

This is the one song on the album that’s about a past relationship. When I went home in the beginning of the pandemic, I had gotten a text from that person from the past. It was just rude. And so, that ignited the song, honestly. I already had the guitar loop, and it became one of the songs that pours out of you. It felt very classic rock, to me. I’m very proud of the production on this one: the big, angelic, gospel-y, quiet-y chorus thing is like a dream. I love that stuff.
