Genius Annotation

Dead Soldier’s Waltz is one of Primo Victoria’s two instrumental songs. Just like “The March to War”, it’s extremely short, spanning only around 80 seconds.

It starts out with a slow, mournful tune, which resembles a slowed-down waltz. Then, a snare drum breaks through the melody, after which the music becomes faster and much more intense. It also gets more upbeat and warlike. Instead of mourning the men who died on the battlefield, the second part of the song seems to celebrate their bravery while still alive. Then, the sound slowly fades away.
