“Almost Love” is the lead single from Sabrina Carpenter’s third album, Singular: Act 1.
The song was premiered at iHeartRadio’s Wango Tango 2018 four days before the release of the song.
Prior to its release, Sabrina posted two videos on her Instagram, teasing the song. She also posted the cover art in between with the release date.
Sabrina also stated on an Instagram livestream (6/5/18) that this was one of the last songs she wrote for the album, Singular.
The song was most likely written only two months before its release, as Carpenter shared on her Twitter some of the song’s lyrics on April 19th, 2018:
The song portrays a casual relationship that is not taken seriously by either person until it’s time to say goodbye, but Sabrina starts to become attached to this person and wants them to be more than a casual fling.
