The title track of Claudio’s debut Christmas album features GRAMMY award-winning Canadian singer-songwriter The Weeknd, marking the pair’s first collaboration together. The sultry R&B track, which GQ Magazine ranked as the sixth best new Christmas song of 2020, sees the artists crooning over missing a loved one on Christmas Day, therefore having “Christmas blues.”
While the artists hadn’t yet musically collaborated together, Claudio was announced as an opener for The Weeknd’s “After Hours World Tour” in February 2020, with the tour originally scheduled to take place in mid-2020 before the COVID-19 pandemic struck the United States.

Abel being as excited about this album as he was was almost hard to believe. When I sent him “Christmas Blues” to listen to, never in a million years would I have imagined that he would want to join me on a Christmas song, but I am so beyond honored and grateful that he did. He brought an undeniable emotion and perspective to the song that wouldn’t have felt the same if it were just me singing it.
“Christmas Blues” debuted and peaked at #14 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary Chart during the week of December 19, 2020. It marks Claudio’s first time appearing on the list and The Weeknd’s eighth time.
The song also peaked at #6 on the Billboard Holiday Digital Sales Chart and #2 on the Billboard R&B Digital Song Sales Chart during the week of December 12, 2020.
