“Walk Me Home” is the fourth single off Said The Sky’s sophomore album, Sentiment, and it serves as a collaboration with longtime friends ILLENIUM and Chelsea Cutler.

The song was originally written in the summer of 2020 where Trevor and Annika Wells wrote it in the middle of the night. Christensen created the guitar chords while Wells wrote the lyrics based on the universal experiences of women fearing to walk through the world. She shared in an Instagram post stating:

I started thinking about all the times I’ve not known how I would make it home – all the times I felt unsafe leaving a party or not knowing if I could trust the drink in my hand or the person next to me or what might happen at the end of the night. Walk Me Home, to me, is about the universal experience women face of fearing how to walk through the world.

“Walk Me Home” was originally teased alongside the rest of the track list for Sentiment on February 4, 2022. Trevor later released a video on February 5, 2022, revealing the name of every collaborator on his album along with short snippets of the songs. “Walk Me Home” was revealed to be the final song on the album, featuring ILLENIUM as co-producer and Chelsea Cutler as the vocalist. This was also confirmed in another image of the album’s track list, without the names crossed.

On February 7, 2022, Trevor announced that he would be releasing the song early in a tweet saying:

ALRIGHT I knew you guys would be excited for this one. My track with ILLENIUM and Chelsea Cutler is coming early. Walk Me Home will be dropping THIS FRIDAY.

Following, the song was released on February 11, 2022, a week before Christensen’s sophomore album was set to issue.
