Let’s Go (Remix) Lyrics

[Verse 1: Scrubb$]
Live this night up like it's our last
Put your hands up and party!
Ain't not time to waste
Put it in the past
Rollin' wit my buds, havin' a blast
Smokin' that GOOD hash
Gettin' racks on racks
Fat ass stacks of cash
Girl back that ass up, lemme get that b-b-b-booty
Twerkin' like Big Booty Judy
Bounce that ass up, bounce that ass down
We get turnt, in this town!

[Verse 2: Sh!eldZ]
Can you get down girl I think you can
Get up on the flo and show me somethin'!
Forget about the rest
Just do what you do best
Be a star
Cause to me that is what you are
Wow the whole crowd when you do your dance
I wanna see that back when you move those pants!
You ain't a stripper, but I will throw them bands
So I can say I made it rain when you did it wit no hands

Genius Annotation

History – “Let’s Go” is a song by the Scottish DJ Calvin Harris, featuring vocals from Ne-Yo. The track was released in the United Kingdom on the 22nd of April in 2012, and is the third single from Harris’s album 18 Months. On the 29th of April, precisely a week after it’s release, Let’s Go debuted at number two on the UK Singles Chart by the end of the week in May — marking Harris' third consecutive number two hit (only to be bested by Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe”…). In the July of 2012, the song has sold 376,000 downloads in the United States. It also appeared on the deluxe version of Ne-Yo’s fifth studio album “R.E.D.”. The song received a nomination for Best Dance record at the 55th Grammy Awards which was held in February of 2013.

Story – As my friend Scrubb$ was getting more interested into music after our successful FourFiveSeconds remix and our unreleased “Stolen Dance” remix, he wanted to try to do something on his own, tackle a track by himself. I threw out randomly that he should try to tackle Let’s Go and he actually pursued it. Well one night, we were sitting in my grandma’s garage when he started coming up with a verse for the drop where it was just instrumental (because that’s how we/I do our/my remixes) and he wrote a good bit before coming to me for approval/help. I looked at it and I rapped it the way I would’ve if I wrote it and he ended up adopting my speed and flow for this joint. Weeks later I wanted to follow up with him to see if he had more written to it and he didn’t so when I came home from work on another day, I had inspiration to write my own verse for it.
When it was finished, I showed it to him, and he thought that it was RAW so we then turned it into a collaboration. After we were content with the record, I thought that there needed to be another voice so Scrubb$ contacted one of his friends, Chubb$, and he had him rap for us to see if he could make the cut and he seemed promising. I contacted him a few days later asking him when he’d like to lay down his verse. He hit me back, said that he’d come lay it down within the week, well the time came around when we were about to record and I reached out to Chubb$ to see if he was going to make it, he didn’t answer. So we just kept our verses and released it without him; I assume he wasn’t hungry.
When writing our verses, we wanted to fit the mood of the song so that’s what we did. I had the mindset of telling my girl (I don’t have one by the way haha) to do a little dance for me and not care what people think because she’s a star to me and that’s all that matters. Scrubb$ had the mind of an established party goer when writing his verse: party like there’s no tomorrow, having a blast with friends, smokin' good good, gettin' money, and indulging in some ass shakin'. In my opinion, we made the track an even more fun record to vibe to, like damn.

Sound – With three of 2012’s biggest hits climbing the charts, Calvin Harris was having a pretty good year and when he released Let’s Go, it only strengthened that fact. With Let’s Go, he brought his signature festive, energized, feel good, and overall fun sound which had every floor in every club across the county lit!
