This song is written (mostly) from the perspective of an unnamed female antagonist urging our main character (the great Sheleminem) to do dirt. It was inspired by “Queen of Broken Hearts” by Blackbear, which is written entirely from the perspective of a girl with, let’s say, wild tendencies. I thought that was such a fun idea that I wanted to take that same approach, but make my character a more obvious villain and tell a story. Everybody likes a good villain! But this story is different because it doesn’t really have a beginning or end. To me, temptation is something that is always there in some form in some aspect of life. Maybe not something as blatant as in this song, but we’re all tempted to do something unsavory as we go about our daily lives. So yeah. I guess if I had to name our main character in this story, her name would be Temptation. Good talk, everyone. We did it!
