Santa’s Coming for Us Lyrics

[Verse 1]
Nights are getting shorter now, hot chocolate
Fills the air and Christmas cheer does too
Pickin' out your Christmas tree, so lovely
The joy this time it brings to you

[Refrain]
(Oh, do-do-do, oh, do-do-do)
(Oh, do-do-do, oh, do-do-do)
(Oh, do-do-do, oh, do-do-do)
Santa's coming to town
(Oh, da-da-da, oh, da-da-da)
(Oh, da-da-da, oh, da-da-da)
(Oh, da-da-da, oh, da-da-da)
Santa's coming to town

[Pre-Chorus]
Sing it to the deer in the sky
Sing it as they jingle, jingle, jingle tonight
Sing it to the moon, set it free
You're the angel on the top of my tree
Sing it to the spirit above
Sing your heart out with all of your love
Santa's coming for us

[Chorus]
Santa's coming for us, Santa's coming for us
Santa's coming for us, Santa's coming for us
Santa's coming for us
Oh, Santa's coming for us
[Verse 2]
Send your letters off to Santa, baby
Tell him all your secret wishes too
Send your letters off to Santa, baby
Hopin' all your wildest dreams come true

[Refrain]
(Oh, do-do-do, oh, do-do-do)
(Oh, do-do-do, oh, do-do-do)
(Oh, do-do-do, oh, do-do-do)
Santa's coming to town
(Oh, da-da-da, oh, da-da-da)
(Oh, da-da-da, oh, da-da-da)
(Oh, da-da-da, oh, da-da-da)
Santa's coming to town

[Pre-Chorus]
Sing it to the deer in the sky
Sing it as they jingle, jingle, jingle tonight

Sing it to the moon, set it free
You're the angel on the top of my tree
Sing it to the spirit above
Sing your heart out with all of your love
Santa's coming for us

[Chorus]
Santa's coming for us, Santa's coming for us
Santa's coming for us, Santa's coming for us

What did Sia say about "Santa’s Coming for Us"?
Genius Answer

Sia spoke to Beats 1 Radio about the album:

I thought there’s a bit of a shortage of like a good Christmas music. I mean obviously there’s the classics and stuff, but anything new I wasn’t vibing that much on it. And so I had thought, ‘Oh wouldn’t it be nice to do something that I guess that I liked.’ So I wrote a list of all my favorite christmas songs and then I went in with Greg Kurstin and started writing. And I wanted to of course write a couple of originals and then I just was having so much fun because it’s already there and all of the like concepts. You just have to expand on them. So it’s not like you like have to have an original idea to begin with. It’s like, ‘Okay, so Christmas. Mistletoe. Right. Okay. Ho ho ho. Right, okay. Santa Claus. Christmas lists. Elves.’ Like so you’ve got all the, you know, subject matter. So it was easy and fun. So we did it in two weeks. And I couldn’t stop writing new songs and so I ended up with an original album on accident.

Producer Greg Kurstin told Entertainment Weekly:

I don’t know how she comes up with song lyric and melody ideas so quickly. She’s like no one else. What really blows my mind is just that she wrote these new Christmas stories, in a way, and it’s kind of amazing that she did that … There’s some really fun uptempo Christmas jams, and then there’s also some Sia ballads.
