Genius Annotation

Vore was first released as a single in February 2023 and is the fifth track on Sleep Token’s third album release, Take Me Back To Eden.

This track was assumed by some fans to possibly be the final single to be released ahead of the album, done so with little prior notice to the fanbase. It has been rumoured that “top fans” of the bands' Facebook page were given previews of the track the day prior to its release, with some of them making posts on various social media platforms to share the news of the new track.

The title of “Vore” comes from Internet slang for “vorarephilia”, a sexual fetish involving the consumption, either whole or in piecemeal, of one person by another. While gruesome on its face, the majority of vore content is what’s called “endosomatic”, wherein the “prey” is alive and safe inside the “predator”. Sleep Token utilize the namesake as a metaphor, as many vore artists and authors do, for a perverse but uniquely intimate affection.
