An Olive Grove Facing the Sea Lyrics

[Verse 1]
Sworn to secrecy
I might go after school
She was an angel
I saw her swimming there
I am in such a mess
I can't cope without this
She just teases me
Pretends she can't see me here

[Chorus]
So let me go out there
I can breathe fresh air
Lay with you all night
Just let me love you
Just for a while want to
Be with you all night
Be with you all night
Until I fall asleep
Until I fall asleep
Until I fall asleep
Until I fall asleep
Just let me be here
I won't tell anyone
Don't want to wake up
Don't want to wake up
[Verse 2]
The blind lead the blind
So why can't I find my way
This could be heaven
But I don't know where I am
I am too scared to come out
From behind here
My body is aching
It feels like it's wearing me

[Chorus]
So let me go out there
I can breathe fresh air
Lay with you all night
Just let me love you
Just for a while want to
Be with you all night
Be with you all night
Until I fall asleep
Until I fall asleep
Until I fall asleep
Until I fall asleep
Just let me be here
I won't tell anyone
Don't want to wake up
Don't want to wake up

Genius Annotation

An Olive Grove Facing The Sea was first released as the 11th track of Snow Patrol’s second album “When It’s All Over We Still Have to Clear Up” (2001). It was received positively by most critics and was re-recorded and released as a single in 2009 under Snow Patrol’s album “Up to Now”. The re-recorded single differs slightly from the original and is known as the “2009 Version”. Gary Lightbody himself stated that the second version is “shamefully self indulgent” in an interview by the Hot Press.

The Song also has its own music video which was recorded on the 24th of May 2001 and was played on BBC 2.
