Just Chillin’ Lyrics

JUST CHILLIN’

[Solace Zeta]

HOOK:
[We’re, just chillin’/chillin’/just chillin’] x 4

Verse 1:
Lamping on the roof/
Lounging with a boost/
From the sound/
Smoke up the pound/
Say “word,” toke the herb & pass it around/
‘til we so high we can’t come down/
Let loose with 80 proof Grey Goose/
So I’m laid back on the track just like a caboose/
Bringing up the rear relaxed/
Clear, ringing like a bell cause we’re bringing it back/
Don’t want to be weak so let’s be bold/
Seek out the truth untold/
Watch our lives unfold/
Like vines over time getting unrolled/
We laugh aloud/
Watching time pass underneath the clouds/
When I toke up to what is sung/
I soak the smoke up with my lungs/
Like a sponge/
At peace my release is like a rag being wrung/
My mind contemplates the memory of an old man’s comment/
He told me what I’d find if I looked at my fate & thought on-it/
I realized as he analyzed my behavior/
He knew more about what I do than my neighbors/
The knowledge his words contained/
I witnessed at long last as he explained/:
“Time’ll pass by into the past if you’re always smoking the ganja/
Oblivious to when it’s time to go until it’s upon-ya”/
I’ll remember that/
Because it speaks in ways unique & abstract/
But I got my brain off track/
With thoughts outlandish/
Like the Earth is the canvas/
And nature is the artist/
Drawn in vivid detail it feels real ‘cause the colors are the sharpest/
I have a tendency to constantly be the analyzer/
Especially in my current state it’s my fate to be hyper/
Never wanna be a goner/
So ever do I ponder/
While I let my mind wander/
On the ganja/
Not even a reason to be upset/
‘cause I’m always set/
To release tension through my tongue/
I conclude live fast & die young/
May be true but time flies when having fun/
Is too, so we enjoy what we do by the moment/
It’s possible I never would’ve known-it/
But the way to go is through feeling/
That’s why we’re, just, chilling…
[HOOK] x 4

Verse 2:
There is no black & white only gray/
’cause life’s all a dream we wake up to each & everyday/
These are the thoughts that reach my mind/
While the sun’s creeping along the skyline/
While we sleep away the afternoon/
In the summer with the flower’s full bloom/
Smoking weed, tripping mushrooms, or just sipping liquor/
Rocking laid back in wicker/
Talking, about what we’re reminded of looking at the sky’s pictures/
Floating with the winds like waves in the sands/
Clouds dance across the oceans of the sky’s lands/
See poetry is the language of nature’s essence/
Contained before us our perspective in frame of reference/
Every crab has its shell/
It is within ourselves/
That our ambitions dwell/
Poetic philosophy is the way I convey the knowledge I express/
So-let-it solidify like pottery to give you an edge over the rest/
The virtually abstract analysis of the physical realm/
I surgically dissect info until even the pitiful remains overwhelm/
In awe, I never tire or being able to admire the sunset over the mountains/
Feeling colors rushing over me like spring water stemming from fountains/
The ornate design sates, empowers & nourishes/
My surfeit of inspiration like a flower causing it to flourish/
Shining-bright & glamorous as a star as are my similes and metaphors/
Combining-right on par so I blossom & cause-’em to vividly take shape with contours/
Know that it’s the fertilizer required/
For me to grow & acquire the status desired/
Yet even then I’ll still be in style when I’m chilling/
‘cause I wanna & I’m never gonna forget the feeling when/
We’re, just, chilling…
[HOOK] x 4

About

Genius Annotation

This song was real mellow, and just a ‘having a real good time chillin’ kind of song. When I wrote this song I was really just evaluating and trying to see the beauty in life. I wanted to be chilling and understanding as much as I could in life. From what I could tell, learning to chill and enjoy yourself is an important part of life, so I tried to share what that meant to me. At the time, I was taking college poetry classes and that influenced and grew me up a lot in terms of style and aesthetics, which remain an important theme in my approach and goals when writing songs. I really wanted this to be like a summer jam that people would play at parties on riding around to spots they were going to have a good time at.
