[Pre-Chorus]
Just grab my hand and don't ever drop it, my love
They are the hunters, we are the foxes and we run

[Chorus]
Baby (Baby), I know places we won't be found
And they'll (They'll) be (Be) chasing their tails tryin' to track us down
'Cause I, I know places we can hide
I know places

[Bridge]
They are the hunters, we are the foxes and we run
Just grab my hand and don't ever drop it, my love

[Chorus]
Baby (Baby), I know places we won't be found
And they'll (They'll) be (Be) chasing their tails tryin' to track us down

'Cause I, I know places we can hide
I know places

[Post-Chorus]
(I) They take their shots, but we're bulletproof (I know places)
(Hide) And you know, for me, it's always you (I know places)
(I) In the dead of night, your eyes so green (I know places)
(Hide) And I know, for you, it's always me (I know places)
[Outro]
I-I-I-I, I-I-I-I
I-I-I-I, I-I-I-I (I, I)

Genius Annotation

“I Know Places (Taylor’s Version)” is a new take on Taylor Swift’s original song from her 2014 album, “1989”. It came out on October 27, 2023, as part of Taylor’s re-recorded “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” album.

This song explores more about the media attention she got during her relationship with Harry Styles. The idea of the song is that Taylor knows places were they can’t find her (fans, paparazzi, etc).

While it still feels like the original, “I Know Places (Taylor’s Version)” has subtle changes that show how Taylor has grown as an artist. Her more mature voice and evolved musical style give the song a deeper feeling.

What did Taylor Swift say about "I Know Places (Taylor's Version)"?
Genius Answer

I wrote “I Know Places” with Ryan Tedder and it’s the first song that I wrote with him. So, I brought this idea in that I had kind of done very roughly on piano and sent him this voice memo of me singing the chorus and kind of babbling my way through the verse and he liked it and wanted to work on it. It’s a song about how other people will really ruin a relationship if they get a chance to and how the best way to go about starting a relationship might be to keep it as secret as possible, just because it’s very fragile. And I think this is a song that I wrote about sort of how covered it would have to be in order for me to make something work, essentially.
