I Think There’s Something You Should Know Lyrics
I think there's something you should know
I don't feel like myself, I'm not gonna lie (Lie)
How would you know? It doesn't show
I think there's something you should know (Know, know)
I think there's something you should know
I’m feeling like someone, like somebody else
I don’t feel myself, it could be my health
I'd like to meet myself and swap clothes
I think there's something you should know
[Refrain]
(I think there's something)
(I don't wanna be someone else)
(I don't wanna be someone else)
(I don't wanna be someone—)
(I don't wanna be someone else)
[Bridge]
You get a moment when you feel alright
You get a moment when you feel alright
You get a moment when you feel alright
You get a moment when you feel alright
[Verse 2]
I feel so seen and I can't dream
Sleeping terrifies me, otherwise, I'm fine
See-saw back and forth, back on the door, back on the floor
Oh, please ignore me, I'm just feeling sorry for myself
Feeling like someone, like somebody else, who don’t feel themself
Paying for their wealth with their mental health
I'd like to meet myself and swap clothes
I think there's someplace I should go
I think there's something you should know
I think there's something you should know
I think there's something you should know

It’s explicitly about impostor syndrome, depression, that kind of a sense of isolation. I think there’s a lot of that in this record. I think it’s also about the lack of desire to communicate about those things as well—like, if I’m talking to someone close to me who’s not aware of what’s going on. And I think the reason for that is normally because it’s exhausting to take it out of your head and put it on the table.

Referencing old lyrics is very me, because it’s never a different story, it’s a continuation of the story. I think postmodernism drives a lot of my work. The idea that a character in a film knows he’s a character in a film. The breaking of those walls when I was younger in literature, I always used to be like- “Shit! Real life is this life and they know that I’m watching this and this isn’t real”. I like that in real life, beacause that’ll spark a memory. I think is also all that I do, and everything that I am. I can’t help but reference it.
