Do You Come Here Often? Lyrics

[Instrumental]

Do you come here often?

Only when the pirate ships go off air

Me too. (laughs)

Well, I see pajama styled shirts are in, then

Well, pajamas are out, as far as I'm concerned anyway

Who cares?

Well, I know of a few people who do

Yes, you would

Wow! These two, coming now. What do you think?

Mmmm... Mine's all right, but I don't like the look of yours

Well, I must be off

Yes, you're not looking so good
Cheerio, I'll see you down the 'Dilly

Not if I see you first, you won't

[Instrumental]

Genius Annotation

‘Do You Come Here Often?’ is a 1966 track by the Tornados released as a B side to their last single ‘Is That A Ship I Hear’. The song is notable for producer Joe Meek’s inclusion of a gay conversation between two men (spoken by two members of the band) in the middle of the track, at a time when being gay was illegal in the UK and amidst Meek’s repression of his homosexuality. It now serves as an early example of openly gay music.
