Iconic Australian entertainers The Wiggles answered the call by Triple J hosts Bryce and Ebony to perform a cover for Like A Version. They made contact with Blue Wiggle and founding member Anthony Field in February 2021, leaving fans to guess as to what their cover was going to be.
The track was kept a secret until its release on Friday, March 5 Australian time. The band covered another iconic Australian track: the 2012 breakout hit by Tame Impala, “Elephant”, and included excerpts from their own original track “Fruit Salad” (1994). The song reached number 1 on the 2021 Hottest 100.
The line-up consisted of a mix of current Wiggles and original Wiggles members.

After retiring from Wiggles duty in 2006 due to health reasons, Greg has kept performing and music commitments to a minimum. He did make an appearance during a special reunion charity concert in 2020, but that led to heart complications.

Covering ‘Elephant’ has been a truly special experience for us. When we first heard the track, it immediately seemed like a great fit. As we started rehearsing, I quickly realised I’d underestimated how complex the song is. The timing, phrasing, all of it was a big leap from our usual songs, which are typically played in 4/4 time. To put it simply, Kevin Parker is a genius. ‘Elephant’ coming in at No. 1 in the Hottest 100 was such a surprise and an honour, something we’re all incredibly humbled by.
