I’ve Loved You For So Long Lyrics
Doo-doo-doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo
[Verse 1]
I've loved you for so long
Oh, I'd forgotten how it feels
Feelings come back strong
You're taking me back, babe
To where it all started
Wearing your hair up in your New York apartment
I swear
I've loved you for so long
I'd do it again
[Refrain]
Doo-doo-doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo
But I've loved you for so long
That I'd forgotten how it feels
But feelings come back strong, oh
Taking me back, babe
To where it all started
I'm stealing a kiss in your brand new apartment
I swear, oh
I've loved you for so long
[Bridge]
And I'd do it again, again, again, again, baby
Again, again, again, again
Again, again, again, again, baby
Again, again, I swear I'd do it again
[Refrain]
Doo-doo-doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo-doo (Oh)
Doo-doo-doo-doo (Oh)
Doo-doo-doo
And I've, I've waited for so long
To feel the way that I feel
When you're in my arms

Cristal Ramirez:
The greatest love of my life is this band. It was something that subtlety dawned on me after writing the title track for our third record, ‘I’ve Loved You For So Long’ – a line Alisa wrote that felt grand and romantic.
We were exploring what love looks like in a long-term relationship, of loving someone for so long that they almost feel like a part of you. Although, when we were writing it, we were referencing experiences from our romantic relationships, I quickly realised, the love of my life is this band.
I was recalling making our first record in New York. From being 10 years old in the basement picking out guitar chords, to touring the world together. Stumbling through life, relationships, the good and bad, always having the band to fall back on.
The only truly consistent thing in a chaotic ever-changing world. I realise that I’ve never really loved anything like I love this band. And that even through times of dulled inspiration, of questioning everything, I’m always softly reminded that this is exactly where I’m supposed to be.
