According to Vinyl Me, Please’s reissue of The Lemon of Pink, the song’s base structure came from a Dutch cosmetics 7".
The vocal, fiddle, and banjo duties were handled by Anne Doerner, whom Nick Zammuto met while in Hot Springs, NC during his trek of the Appalachian Trail.
According to Zammuto, the lyrics were improvised by Doerner whilst channeling Ricki Lee Jones.
