Texas Is South Lyrics
[Breakdown: Mike Hranica]
Good evening, good evening, good evening, miss
Good evening, good evening, good evening, miss
Good evening, good evening, good evening, miss
Good evening, good evening, good evening, miss
[Verse 1: Jeremy DePoyster]
I'm looking to put a bullet
Into the tile floor, into the tile
I'm looking to put a bullet
Into the tile floor
It's obvious
[Verse 1: Mike Hranica]
All I ever do is wish
Things were different
This envy is destroying me
And it is obvious, it's obvious, it's obvious
It's obvious, it's obvious, it's obvious
It's obvious, it's obvious, it's obvious
[Breakdown: Mike Hranica]
Mark this
Mark this
Mark this
Mark this
Good evening, good evening, good evening, miss
Good evening, good evening, good evening, miss
Good evening, good evening, good evening, miss
Good evening, good evening, good evening, miss
[Verse 1: Jeremy DePoyster]

Into the tile floor, into the tile
I'm looking to put a bullet
Into the tile floor

[Verse 1: Mike Hranica]

And it is obvious, it's obvious, it's obvious
It's obvious, it's obvious, it's obvious

[Verse 2: Mike Hranica]
I want to say something:
We were blessed
But now I wet my lips
And wait for them to dry
Wait for them to dry
[Interlude]
[Verse 3: Mike Hranica]
The lust of the dress
The thought of her lips
Reverent smile
These letters I've wrote
Are shackled to my chest
Shackled to my chest
These letters I've wrote
Are shackled to my chest
Shackled to my chest
Shackled to my chest
[Bridge: Mike Hranica & Jeremy DePoyster]
Her tantalization
She is misconception
[Breakdown: Mike Hranica]
Good evening, good evening, good evening, miss
Good evening, good evening, good evening, miss
Good evening, good evening, good evening, miss
Good evening, good evening, good evening, miss
I want to say something:

Wait for them to dry

About
Genius Annotation
“Texas Is South” and “Dogs Can Grow Beards All Over” are the only two songs on Dear Love: A Beautiful Discord that weren’t re-recordings from the band’s 2006 demo Patterns of a Horizon. At early TDWP shows, the band would come out to the Family Guy theme song and immediately play this song right after the theme ended.
The song is about the common sins that can go hand-in-hand with a relationship. Envy is the first sin, which is important as it’s common for lovers to get jealous. The other sin is lust, which is probably a more obvious relationship sin than Envy. With all the sexual desire in a romance, lust is an effortless sin.
