Sunshine Of Your Love Lyrics
[Verse 1]
It's getting near dawn
When lights shut their tired eyes
I'll soon be with you, my love
To give you my dawn surprise
[Pre-Chorus]
I'll stay with you, darling, soon
I'll stay with you 'til the seas are dried up
[Chorus]
I've been waiting so long
To be where I'm going
In the sunshine of your love
[Verse 2]
Be with me, my love
The light shining through on you
Be with me, my love
It's the morning and just we two
[Pre-Chorus]
I'll stay with you, darling, soon
I'll stay with you 'til the seas are dried up
[Chorus]
I've been waiting so long
To be where I'm going
In the sunshine of your love
It's getting near dawn
When lights shut their tired eyes
I'll soon be with you, my love
To give you my dawn surprise
[Pre-Chorus]
I'll stay with you, darling, soon
I'll stay with you 'til the seas are dried up
[Chorus]
I've been waiting so long
To be where I'm going
In the sunshine of your love
[Verse 2]
Be with me, my love
The light shining through on you
Be with me, my love
It's the morning and just we two
[Pre-Chorus]
I'll stay with you, darling, soon
I'll stay with you 'til the seas are dried up
[Chorus]
I've been waiting so long
To be where I'm going
In the sunshine of your love
[Verse 3]
Be with me, my love
The light shining through on you
Be with me, my love
It's the morning and just we two
[Pre-Chorus]
I'll stay with you, darling, soon
I'll- 'til the seas are dried up
[Chorus]
I've been waiting so long
To be where I'm going
In the sunshine of your love
[Outro]
In the sunshine of your love
Let me do it again
Be with me, my love
The light shining through on you
Be with me, my love
It's the morning and just we two
[Pre-Chorus]
I'll stay with you, darling, soon
I'll- 'til the seas are dried up
[Chorus]
I've been waiting so long
To be where I'm going
In the sunshine of your love
[Outro]
In the sunshine of your love
Let me do it again
About
Genius Annotation
A cover of Cream’s “Sunshine of Your Love” off their 1967 album Disraeli Blues. This is the first of two covers (along with “Don’t Fear the Reaper”) to appear on GGD’s debut album. In addition to showing off some of the influences outside of punk the early band pulled upon, the song also shows us a band still looking for its identity and sound. After all, there are two covers on the album, and one could argue the influence of seminal punk rockers the Ramones is manifest in the hilarious track, “Don’t Beat My Ass (With a Baseball Bat).”
