“BLEED” serves as the third single in the second official rollout for The Kid LAROI’s debut studio album, THE FIRST TIME.
The song’s existence would come to light in November 2022, when Laroi made a tweet saying, “I have a song called "BLEED” and it may be my favorite song I’ve ever made".
Laroi would go on to film the music video for “BLEED” in June 2023. Visual elements from the video play a big part in the album’s official trailer and the album’s cover art.
In October 2023, just 5 days before its release, Laroi previewed the song for the very first time on TikTok.

I’ve been trying to make a song like “BLEED” for so long. I just love the vocal layers on the hook, the bridge/second verse part is so cool— I love how it builds up and then drops into the last hook, and how the instrumental builds up the whole way through the song. Just everything about it really feels like something I’ve been trying to make for a long time, and I’ve made a lot of songs that are trying to be “BLEED,” but aren’t “BLEED.” I just really love it.
