“Heaven” sees LAROI reminisce on a journey of change, delving into personal struggles and self-destructive behavior that is marked by recklessness and emotional numbness to a present defined by the positive influence of a special person.

The song was first previewed to the public in a twelve-second snippet on LAROI’s Instagram. On December 10, 2022, during The Kid LAROI’s free show in the Silver Lining Lounge within New York City, LAROI performed the entire song live. Although he requested the audience not to record the song, some people chose not to comply, and later that day, the live audio was on the internet. It soon became a fan-favorite, as well as one of LAROI’s favorites, with him replying on Twitter to someone asking him to “not release it” by stating it was “one of his favorites.”
