On “Still Chose You,” The Kid LAROI sings about his susceptibility to a serious relationship over a piano-heavy beat from Mustard, marking the Australian artist’s first collaboration with the acclaimed producer.
LAROI first previewed the track on his Instagram story on January 28, 2021. Just less than a week later, he teased its release along with a Cole Bennett-directed music video which was later scratched for a redone music video nearly four months after release.
The track was originally announced to release on February 26, 2021 as the lead single to LAROI’s first July EP, however, it was postponed because of sample copyright issues. On July 13, 2021, it was confirmed to appear on the project, though it leaked in its entirety four days before release.
