Genius Annotation

Running Towards a Place is the seventh track off of The Killers' sixth studio album, Imploding the Mirage. The song’s 80’s inspired atmosphere has garnered it comparisons to Fleetwood Mac and Bruce Springsteen. The guitar riff of the track was created by the band’s drummer, Ronnie Vannucci Jr while frontman Brandon Flowers was late to a recording session. Prior to the album’s release, Flowers discussed in interviews that the main theme of the record would be the question of “Can two become one?,” a central line in this song.
