After escaping the X&I and launching back into space, Shiny flies his ship into the sun to chase after June. Earlier in the story, June predicted that she was the one who was going to save Shiny in the songs “Steps in Time” and “Where Rain Must Fall.” This idea has formed in Shiny’s subconscious and Shiny decides that he is willing to risk his life for the possibility of finding June, which ends the story of ATUM. Could this be a setup for another sequel? Only time will tell!
