(No Oasis) Lyrics

On the edge of giving in
Lost inside the catalyst
There's nothing I won't try and taste

In the dark and overused
Left alone with the abused
I'll never know if I matter to you

Hey, I was talking down to you
You objectify the truth
Every thing you thought you were is all wrapped up inside a lie
The kind that makes you blind
Falling over every line you believed so hard you hollowed out
Hollowed out your mind

In the desert of denial
Drink the pain and wait a while
No one's coming back for me

No oasis to be seen
Go ahead and dig a hole for me
Oh my God I'll finally be free

Hey, I was talking down to you
You objectify the truth
Every thing you thought you were is all wrapped up inside a lie
The kind that makes you blind
Falling over every line you believed so hard you hollowed out
Hollowed out your mind
(In the desert of denial)
(In the desert of denial)
(In the desert of denial)
(In the desert of denial)
(In the desert of denial)
(In the desert of denial)

What did Underoath say about "(No Oasis)"?
Genius Answer

We had the idea of doing an interlude but making it more of a song. I love when Trent Reznor puts a record out and there’s something on there that might be noise for three minutes, but it feels really purposeful. This was an attempt at that, but we gave it two verses and a chorus. That part where you hear someone walking down the stairs is actually Spencer walking down the stairs, and we recorded him laughing too. These days it’s easy to create stuff like that digitally, but we did it the old-fashioned way.
